In this article, we will be giving you a comprehensive guide on how to troubleshoot Daikin Aircon Blinking light problem by identifying the specific cause of it. Here are the contents you might want to find out.
Daikin Aircon Red Light Blinking
In this situation, Daikin Aircon red light blinking generally only applies to the newer version of Daikin Aircon. For example : Daikin Ismile series, Daikin Ismile eco series. The red light blinking is an indication that the wifi function is not set up properly yet. You may have to set this up first by following the video on the left. Do not worry about this blinking light, it is not an indication of error code in the system.
Daikin Aircon Green Light Blinking
When Daikin Aircon blinks Green light, it simply means that there is an error code occurring within the system. The error code could range from that of insufficient gas to more serious issues such as compressor over current. Whenever there is Daikin Aircon green light blinking, you may have to check the Aircon error code first to find out. You can use your remote control to find out on Daikin Aircon error code. More on that later.
Daikin Inverter Aircon Blinking Light
Generally inverter Aircon will be able to show error code, whereas Non-inverter Aircon usually does not. So if you are using a non inverter Daikin Aircon such as MA56EV1. Then there is a chance that the error code may not be accurately displayed. Nevertheless, Daikin non inverter Aircon usually has a lower chance of malfunctioning than a Daikin inverter Aircon unit. Because the PCB board is way less complicated than the inverter ones. Also do take note that you will have to use the right remote controller to find out about the error code. You will also not be able to find out about Daikin Aircon error code via a universal remote controller. So make sure you keep the Daikin Aircon remote controller well.

List of Common Daikin Aircon Error Code
Daikin Aircon Error Code U0
The error code U0 is a system issue specifying that the refrigerant is at low level or empty. You might think that it can be simply solved by refilling the refrigerant, which indeed the aircon might still be faulty. Hence, you might need to do a deeper check-up on the aircon. U0 might also show up right after installation if some of the joints are not properly connected, or after a chemical overhaul service. This can be quite common among homeowners if the company technicians are not properly trained. It could also be a mistake made occasionally by the technicians. To solve this issue, you can simply call your technicians to consult and rectify it. However, if U0 error code is showing up often, be mindful that it could be due to gas leakage, thus you might need an aircon pressure test.
Daikin Aircon Error Code U4
Daikin aircon error code U4 indicates communication error between the indoor unit and outdoor unit. These 3 parts that could possibly be malfunction:
1. Indoor PCB
If your Aircon unit is a multi-split unit, then there is a chance that the indoor PCB is defective provided that only one unit is showing U4. Do note that faulty indoor fan motor can also be the cause as it could result in indoor PCB malfunctioning. However for most of the time, U4 error code is triggered due to defective indoor PCB.
2. Wiring between Daikin Aircon indoor and outdoor unit
It could also be wiring is faulty if only one unit is showing U4, causing connection to be disrupted. If all of the units are showing U4, it is less likely to be this issue.
Daikin Aircon J3 Error Code
If you see a J3 Daikin aircon error code, it means that the outdoor thermistor needs to be replaced with a new one. This will need a further check to determine where the exact problem is at since there are multiple outdoor thermistors.
Daikin Aircon Error Code F3
If the Daikin error code is displayed as F3, it is telling you that the outdoor unit discharge temperature is too high, causing the outdoor ambient temperature sensor to malfunction. This could be caused by inadequate refrigerant, congested refrigerant pipework, or a malfunctioning discharge temperature thermistor.
A6 Daikin Aircon Error Code
A6 error code indicates that the aircon indoor fan motor is spoiled. It could also be that the indoor fan motor is not properly connected to the indoor aircon unit if it occurs directly after aircon servicing. You can check the connection point of the indoor fan motor and consider if a replacement is needed.
E7 Daikin Aircon Error Code
E7 Daikin error code simply means that the outdoor fan motor is malfunctioning and requires replacement.
A5 Daikin Aircon Error Code
This error code would be that there is a freeze up protection in one of the fan coil units. If the thermistor malfunctions or the unit is too dirty. It may signal to the condenser unit to open up the valve bigger. Hence it may result in icing of the Aircon unit. Hence an A5 error code will occur to prevent that from happening. If there is an A5 error code in one of the units, you may also wish to check if other units with Daikin Aircon blinking light too. If they are blinking, check if they are having a different error code. Sometimes, a UH error code may have occurred in the other units, which means that there is an issue with the outdoor system.
How much does it cost to solve Daikin aircon blinking light issue?
Error Code | Parts to Replace | Approximate cost |
---|---|---|
U0 | Aircon gas top up | $70 - $120 depending on gas type |
U4 | Outdoor Aircon PCB | $200 - $800++ (ceiling cassette type is very expensive) |
J3 | Thermistor | $150 - $250 depending on Thermistor type |
A6 | Indoor Fan Motor | $140 - $190 (refurbished) |
E7 | Outdoor Fan Motor | $280 for system 3 (refurbished) |
